This is the second session in a series on SQL. In this session Barry Collier builds on the database developed using MySQL from the first session and shows how to load its tables with data. The first part of the session is devoted to explaining and setting up the environment the that the MySQL Server operates in. The second part looks at developing the bankdb database.
The session covers the following points:
  • configuring MySQL for automatic start up
  • configuring the Windows environment to find MySQL
  • basic command line commands
  • loading data from a tab delimited text file
  • altering a table
  • inserting values.
Students will find the content of this Adobe Connect session most helpful for unit ICAPRG425A in both our Certificate IVs and Diploma courses.
